Cockroach Traps

You can make or buy cockroach traps (a.k.a. Roach Motels™). They are basically boxes into which cockroaches can crawl. Inside there is a sticky substance that will capture the roaches.

You can buy these traps at most garden centers. You can also make traps from household substances. To make a sticky trap, put a piece of bread onto a board that has been smeared with petroleum jelly. Fly paper also works.

You can also trap cockroaches with various bottles. Try leaving a bottle with a little leftover soda or wine on its side where cockroaches like to travel. Lean the bottle against something so the cockroaches can climb in. They will be attracted by the scent of the soda or wine, and the bottle's shape will keep them from getting out.
